The Mepps XD (Xtra Deep) is the specialist’s choice for going where traditional spinners can't. While most spinners are designed to plane toward the surface, the XD is engineered to stay down in the "strike zone" of deep pools and fast-moving currents.
The "Xtra Deep" Engineering
The XD features a unique shaft-through-the-blade design. Unlike a traditional spinner where the blade is attached via a clevis, the XD blade sits directly on the stainless steel shaft. This creates a tighter, more compact profile that cuts through water resistance.
Zero-Twist Starting: Every XD is built with a precision solid brass fulcrum bead. This ensures the blade starts spinning the millisecond it hits the water and continues to rotate even on a dead-fall drop.
Deep Water Dominance: Size-for-size, the XD runs deeper than any other lure in its class. It’s the perfect tool for reaching trout in deep river "pockets" or walleye hugging the bottom of a lake.
